Deep Silver GamesLab would like to invite you to come visit us at Dambuster Studios in Nottingham, UK, to playtest our products, both released and unreleased.
Yes, we’re basically asking you to come play games!

Playtests are super useful for us because they provide the information we need to guide the development process. Your feedback will ultimately be shaping our next video games – no pressure!

If this is not exciting enough already, you will also be paid for your time.

You are under 18 years old
You're currently working or have previously worked in the gaming industry
You're a games journalist/blogger

FAQ

Am I eligible to sign up?

You need to be over 18 years old to sign up, ideally live in fairly close proximity to Nottingham, and not have worked or currently be working in the gaming industry or as a game journalist/blogger. As long as you meet these 3 criteria, you are eligible to sign up regardless of how experienced you are as a gamer, which games you like, or how often you play them.
What do I have to do to participate in a playtest?

Register your interest by clicking the button above. Your gamer profile will be automatically added to our database and a member of our team will contact you when we are running a playtest that is a good fit for you.
I’ve signed up but no one’s contacted me yet ☹

Every playtest that we run requires participants with slightly different profiles (e.g. sometimes we need more experienced players, other times novices, other times specific age groups etc.) You just need to wait for a playtest that matches your player profile.
Can I tell my friends about the products that I playtested?

No. When we invite you for a playtest we trust you to understand how seriously we treat confidentiality. Before participating in a playtest we will need you to sign a non-disclosure agreement form which basically prevents you from sharing any info that you were exposed to during the playtest with anyone external to our studio. So although you are free to say to anyone that you’ve participated in a playtest at Deep Silver Dambuster Studios, you cannot under any circumstances say what product you playtested or share any other details about the playtest.
What can I expect to happen on the day of the playtest?
Before the playtest:
1. You will be met at the studio reception by one of our team members.
2. We will ask you to sign a non-disclosure agreement form. You will be playing games that are currently in development, so it is essential that you do not talk about them outside of the studio.
3. We will need to see a form of photo ID for proof of age and identity.
4. If you’re carrying a phone, any recording device, USBs, or other data storage devices, you will be required to lock them in a safe for the duration of the playtest.
During the playtest:
1. You might be playing on your own or with others.
2. A member of our team will be present in the lab during the playtest in case any issues or questions pop up.
3. Refreshments will be available during the playtest.
After the playtest:
1. You might be asked to fill in a few questionnaires after the playtest.
2. We will ask you for your feedback on the product you playtested.
3. You will receive the payment for your participation in cash.
Am I getting paid for my participation?

Yes, you will get paid, and the amount will be communicated to you when you are contacted by our team. However, we cannot reimburse you for any travel costs to and from the studio.
Does GamesLab have disability access?

Yes, our studio is equipped with disability access. Please let us know in advance, so that we can make sure that any requirements you might have are met before the playtest.
What if I don’t want to participate in playtests anymore?

Easy – send us an email at gameslab@dsdambuster.com and we will delete your profile from our database.
What if I don't live in Nottingham?

If you don't live in the Nottingham area, you're still able to sign up. However, Dambuster Studios will not be responsible for any travel or accommodation costs if you're successful. The applicant will be responsible for getting themselves to our studio.
